POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — Two people were arrested on Thursday and accused of sending letters soaked in methamphetamine to a Potter County Jail inmate.
According to the Potter County Sheriff's Office, deputies with the Special Operations Division conducted a narcotics investigation and learned that letters soaked in narcotics were being sent to the detention center through the United States Postal Service.
Deputies learned the letters were being sent to Colton Pullen, an inmate at the detention center.
The investigation led deputies to believe that the letters were being sent by Colt Yarbrough and Cheyanne Wakefield.
Potter County deputies and the Randall County SWAT conducted a search warrant on a residence in the 2000 block of 1st Street in Canyon.
When law enforcement arrived, Yarbrough ran into the house and would not come out leading to a short standoff before both subjects came out.
Deputies found methamphetamine and a firearm in the home.
Pullen will be charged with prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
Yarbrough is charged with violating a parole warrant, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Wakefield is being charged with possession of a controlled substance.
