PERRYTON, Texas (KVII) — Lawyers for a former Perryton High School coach denies the sexual assault claims made by the mother of a former Perryton High School basketball player.
In a federal lawsuit, the mother claims a teammate sexually assaulted her son multiple times, while two other players shot video of the assaults and posted them on social media. The suit also claims a coach did nothing to stop it and that the school district swept it under the rug.
Ragan Watson, who at the time was an assistant football coach at Perryton High School, "denies any assertion of a "sexual assault" or that he was aware of a "sexual assault."'
Watson also denies "any assertion that (he) allegedly did nothing to stop any events that may have occurred."
Watson also said he has "never (been) investigated or disciplined by TEA, nor has he committed any behaviors that would warrant any investigation or discipline."
The TEA shows his teaching certificate is still valid.
Watson currently works for LaGrange ISD.

Last week, Perryton ISD and the three teammates who were accused also denied the allegations.
The family is seeking at least $2 million for emotional distress, pain and suffering, $1.8 million in liquidated damages.
