3 convicted in 2022 north Amarillo murder

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Three of the four people charged with the murder of Jeremie Gomez in 2022 have been convicted.

As we previously reported, on January 25, 2022, police responded to a 911 hang-up near Southeast 9th Avenue and South Buchanan Street.

A woman at the location then led officers to a home on North Williams Street.

Inside the home, police found 36-year-old Jeremie Ray Gomez dead from a gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives arrested Jaicelyn Morgan Anzaldua, 20, on a murder warrant on Feb. 9 of that year.

Several days later on Feb. 16, detectives arrested 25-year-old Adrian Darnell Williams.

Both were booked into Potter County Detention Center on charges of murder that were later upgraded to capital murder.

Police obtained several search warrants for a vehicle and electronics in Anzaldua’s case in August 2022.

In an unexpected development, police announced the arrest of 37-year-old Joel Coral Marquez and 25-year-old Corrina Yvette Ramos in April 2023 — nearly 15 months after the death of Gomez.

Both Marquez and Ramos were booked into Potter County Detention Center on capital murder charges.

In May, Marquez appeared in court and pled to a lesser included offense of murder in exchange for 40 years in prison.

Ramos appeared in court in July to plead guilty to a lesser included offense of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, in exchange for 20 years in prison.

Anzaldua pled guilty to a lesser-included offense of murder in exchange for 50 years in prison.

The three convicted co-defendants are no longer on the Potter County Detention Center roster, indicating they have caught chain to begin their sentences.

Williams is the lone co-defendant who remains in the county jail.

Court records for Williams show a docket call set for Aug. 21, no other hearings at the time of this writing.
