Cross country drug delivery busted in Texas panhandle, man caught with 11 kilos of cocaine

STRATFORD, Texas — A cross country drug delivery was busted in the Texas panhandle when a driver was caught with 11 kilos of cocaine.

Christopher Scott Crayton is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

According to the criminal complaint, Stratford Police Chief Coborn was patrolling Hwy 54 on April 8 when he saw a Kia Rio with California license plates change lanes without a turn signal.

Coborn conducted a traffic stop.

There were two containers of marijuana THC in the front passenger seat.

During a search of the vehicle, Coborn 5 grams of marijuana in the car and a lot more drugs in the trunk.

According to the criminal complaint, Corbon found a backpack in the trunk with nine packages of cocaine weighing 11.38 kilos

Corbon contacted the DEA.

Crayton told agents he flew from New Orleans to Los Angeles, picked up a rental car and the drugs, and was was taking them to Baltimore.
