AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — "Numerous" fentanyl pills, prescription medication, and marijuana were found in a car after a short police chase.

Around 11 a.m., Amarillo police and DPS initiated a traffic stop near NW 24th and Polk Street.

The driver and passenger were asked to step out of the vehicle.

Instead, the driver took off south on Polk St. before stopping in the 100 block of NW 12th.

When police searched the car, they found the drugs.

The driver was charged with manufacture and delivery of narcotics and evading arrest/detention using vehicle.

The passenger was booked on a warrant.

APD has not released their names.
