D'Dric Leevon Thomas

Victim: Deandre Lamadris Graham (33)
Suspect: D’Dric Leevon Thomas (15)

D’Dric Leevon Thomas was 15 years old when he shot Deandre Lamadris Graham twice in the chest at the Axiom Apartments on 1550 Bell St. on March 30, 2022.

According to court documents https://kissfm969.com/amarillo-teen-sentenced-for-2022-murder-committed-as-a-juvenile/, Thomas suspected that Graham had stolen a handgun out of his backpack. Went into the victim’s apartment while he was gone, recouped the firearm and then intentionally disabled surveillance cameras before departing the residence. When Graham returned, he saw the disarray and went to the apartment where Thomas was staying to have him fix the cameras.

Hearing Graham approach, Thomas had hidden in the bathroom with his handgun. Graham came in the apartment and as he opened the bathroom door, he was shot in the chest. Thomas fled the scene, but turned himself in to Police two days later.

At the time of the shooting, Thomas was on juvenile probation for two felony offenses. In total, court records state that Thomas had “been referred to juvenile probation for eleven alleged offenses in Potter County, including six felonies.”

Subsequent to his arrest, two professional evaluations recommended that Thomas be certified to be tried as an adult for the death of Graham. Thomas was then indicted by a Potter County grand jury on a count of murder and a count of manslaughter.

On September 25, 2024, He appeared before Judge Steven Denny of 320th District Court and pled guilty to manslaughter in exchange for a sentence of 12 years in TDCJ.
