Details of deadly Amarillo house fire released, caused $52,000 in damages

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Amarillo Fire Department released more details on a house fire that left one person dead on Tuesday morning.
The fire started around 10:05 a.m. at 924 S. Travis Street. Firefighters arrived in about four minutes.
Smoke billowed from the front door of the single-family home.
One occupant was signaling for help outside and told first responders that someone was trapped inside.
Firefighters immediately searched while deploying attack lines to tackle the blaze.
Crews faced intense heat and smoke while searching for the trapped occupant and despite their efforts, they confirmed the person did not survive. No other injuries were reported.
The Amarillo Fire Marshal's Office investigated and determined the fire originated in the house's office area and was ruled unintentional. There was an estimated property loss of $40,000 and content losses of $12,000.
