AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo Fire Department battled a house fire west of downtown.

The fire at 323 N. Lamar Street started around 2:40 p.m.

Video provided by the fire department shows flames pouring out of the rear the home.

The fire was brought under control by 2:51 p.m.

"The Amarillo Fire Department would like to remind our community: in the event of a fire... get out, stay out, and call 911," said AFD.
