AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo police are looking for a man wanted for an attempted robbery at Westgate Mall.

Around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, a man walked into Dillard's and yelled "this is a robbery! Everyone get on the ground!"

Police said the suspect left without taking any property and no weapons were seen.

A witness told ABC 7 News "people were hiding in the clothes racks, the dressing rooms etc. It was very scary!"

Another witness said "we were there and got in a dressing room with several others. It was a bit surreal."

Someone outside the mall said they saw people coming out crying and shaking.

They said police took statements and tried to calm several people down.

ABC 7 News contacted Westgate Mall for comment.
