Fire damages vacant quadplex in Amarillo, no injuries reported

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A vacant quadplex in Amarillo was damaged by a fire on Wednesday night.

The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a vacant quadplex at 803 South Madison Street at 9:43 p.m. and saw heavy fire originating from the rear corner of the building.

Crews conducted a transitional attack and primary searches of all units in the structure. The fire was contained to the building of origin and extensive overhaul operations were performed to address smoke and fire conditions in the attic space.

No occupants were found during the searches.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.

Estimated losses include $30,000 in property damage and $5,000 in content loss.

The AFD Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene and the fire remains under investigation.
