Former TDCJ parole officer sentenced for multiple sex offenses in Randall County

PAMPA, Texas (KFDA) - A Pampa man appeared in 47th District Court yesterday for his sentencing in multiple cases involving sex offenses with children.

Brandon Wayne Jones, 36, was arrested in October 2022 on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child under age 14, a first-degree felony.

He was eventually indicted on two separate counts of the offense in February 2023.

In June 2023, Jones was indicted in a separate charge for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Then, in October 2023 he was indicted for 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

Jones has remained in Randall County Jail in lieu of bond since his 2022 arrest.

Yesterday, Jones appeared in court with his counsel, Darrell Carey, and pleaded guilty.

Jones will also be required to register as a sex offender for life and a lifetime protective order was given to the victims.

Jones graduated Pampa High School in 2007 and found employment in positions of authority.

He became a certified peace officer in August 2013 and worked as a corrections officer with TDCJ and Potter County Detention Center.

Also listed are several brief stints as a police officer in smaller area towns, but he was most recently employed as a parole officer for TDCJ.
