POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A woman was critically injured in a stabbing incident on Monday in Potter County, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

Deputies were called to the 8200 Block of Bluebonnet, where the female victim had fled to a neighbor's house after being stabbed. She was subsequently transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The suspect was located in a residence on the 200 block of E. Cactus, where he had barricaded himself.

The Potter County Sheriff's Response team was called in to handle the situation. A robot was deployed to locate the suspect inside the house, where he was found unresponsive. Upon entry, the team discovered the suspect deceased.

The Potter County Justice of the Peace was notified, and an autopsy has been ordered.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved, citing the ongoing investigation.
