Amarillo police: Man arrested, charged with murder after Sunday morning shooting

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A man has been arrested and is facing a murder charge after a teen was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning.

Officials say the shooting happened just after midnight on Sunday. Officers were in the area of Poplar Street and Dumas Drive and heard gunshots.

After searching the area, officers found a 16-year-old male in the Hamlet Shopping Center parking lot.

The teen had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amarillo police say due to the age of the victim, the identity will not be released.

22-year-old Tracy Deshaun Talley was arrested and has been charged with murder. He was booked into the Potter County Jail.
