AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Three Amarillo churches were broken into and vandalized since May. Now a $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
Two of the break-ins happened last week.
On June 27, a man broke into Central Church of Christ.
According to Amarillo Crime Stoppers, a slim white male, wearing a black hood over his face with the eyes cut out, broke into the church around 1:30 a.m.
The suspect broke a window. Police said he could have possibly cut his right wrist.
Once inside, he used a knife to do "substantial damage" to the interior of the church.
The first burglary was reported in May. The suspect broke into St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and damaged the altar, baptismal font and processional cross.
The most recent burglary was June 29.
