Amarillo police arrested two after downtown shooting investigation

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Two men have been arrested following a shooting investigation in downtown Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Police Department (APD) the shooting happened on May 8 near 7th Avenue and S. Polk Street.

Officials identified the suspects as 24-year-old Dylan Black and 18-year-old Carlos Noel Martinez.

Police say the arrests stemmed from an altercation connected to the incident.

During the investigation, officers recovered two firearms believed to be tied to the shooting.

At this time, investigators say they have not identified any victims who were struck by gunfire.

Both men were arrested on weapons related charges.

Black was booked into the Randall County Detention Center and Martinez was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

The investigation remains ongoing.
