AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The driver who ran a red light in downtown Amarillo, killing a woman, was high on meth and prescription drugs.

According to court documents, police saw Patrick Wayne Nuner, 38, "driving over 70 mph on 3rd Street."

Nuner went past the police station and ran "several red lights" before he T-boned a car at SE 3rd Avenue and Buchanan Street just before 7:30 pm. Saturday.

Laura Sanders was killed in the crash.

According to court documents, Nuner admitted he had been "smoking meth and ingesting prescription medication in excess of the prescription."

Nuner was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on Tuesday after being released from the hospital.

He's charged with intoxication manslaughter.

According to jail records, his bond was set at $40,000.

Sanders' husband, David, created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
