SANFORD, Texas (KVII) — The body of an 18-year-old male was found at Lake Meredith.

According to the National Park Service, the body was found around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

He was in 29-inches of water at the Spring Canyon Recreation Area which is located on the other side of the dam.

The man is from Guatemala, but was currently living in Cactus.

The body was sent to Lubbock for an autopsy, but the preliminary results did not determine the cause of death.

NPS has not yet released his name.

The case is being investigated by the National Park Service and the Cactus Police Department.
