On July 18, 2022, at 4:20 a.m. officers were called to a local hospital on a man who was brought in with a fatal gunshot wound. The deceased man was identified as 31-year-old Javier Hernandez. Witnesses informed officers that the shooting happened in the 3500 block of SE 11th Ave
According to reports, Hernandez had been in a fight with several other men when one of the men “pulled out a gun and shot Hernandez.”
APD Homicide Detectives arrested 21-year-old Oscar Adame in connection with Hernandez’s death. He was booked into Potter County Detention Center on a charge of murder where he remained in lieu of bond.
On October 7, 2024 Adame pled guilty to murder and was sentenced to 16 years TDCJ
