Amarillo man arrested for organized retail theft—again

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo man already embroiled with legal troubles for his role in an organized theft ring has been arrested a second time for the same charge.

Adam Michael Moreno, 37, was booked into Randall County Detention Center earlier today on a warrant issued out of 181st District Court.

He is charged with organized retail theft in an amount equal to or greater than $750 but less than $2,500.

The charge is typically categorized as a Class A misdemeanor, but Moreno’s charge is enhanced to a state jail felony.

Moreno is currently on probation in Potter County for the same offense.

In October, we reported that Moreno was one of four men indicted on multiple charges after the theft of over 400 power tools.

According to APD Sergeant Carla Burr, hundreds and hundreds of items that had been stolen were being stored in Moreno’s apartment.

On May 19, he pled guilty and was ordered to serve 10 years of probation.

Court records for Moreno’s recent charge in Randall County show an offense date of August 15.

This is a developing story and we will update with more information as we get it.
