Potter County Grand Jury indicts 2 men for January murder

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A Potter County Grand Jury has indicted two men for the January 24 murder of 23-year-old Everardo Guadalupe Leal Jr.

According to the indictments, 22-year-old Jorge Fabian Cabello and 22-year-old Isaac Arthur Botello knowingly caused the death of Leal by shooting him.

Cabello and Botello were charged with murder in April.

The shooting happened around 11:00 p.m. on January 24. Officers responded to a home on North Highland to find Leal with a gunshot wound. He was then declared dead on the scene.

A short time later, officers responded to a second shooting where they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say it is believed the shootings were sparked by a fight that happened that night at the Grand Street Walmart.
