Amarillo police make third arrest in September homicide

The Amarillo Police Department reported Thursday afternoon that it had made a third arrest in connection with the Sept. 17 death of 26-year-old Tiray Evans. On Oct. 10, Teagann Ixavier Zabrantae Shaw, 25, was arrested and charged with murder. Shaw is currently booked into the Potter County Jail.

APD said this follows the earlier arrests of James Childs, 27, on Sept. 18, and Markeen Tiiedrick Rayshon Walker, 31, on Sept. 27. Both were charged with murder and remain in custody at the Potter County Detention Center.

Amarillo officers went to the 500 block of Jason Avenue the night of Sept. 17 and found Evans, 26, had been shot by someone who left the scene in a vehicle. Evans died at the scene.
