Police were originally called to the scene in the 3800 block of NE 14th Street on Nov. 26 regarding her death.
Officers noted suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman's death, so they called the homicide unit in to take over the investigation.
He denied any involvement in his grandmother's death, and as we first reported last month, he was arrested on a charge of injury to the elderly.
A statement Monday from Amarillo Police Department said that following further investigation, the charge was upgraded to murder, accusing Michael of causing his grandmother's death.
