AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A vacant house was destroyed by an early morning fire.

Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, the Amarillo Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3904 SE 11th Avenue.

The first unit on scene found a single family home with heavy fire showing.

"Fire crews made a defensive attack from the start, due to it being a vacant home," said AFD.

Firefighters brought it under control in just over an hour.

There were no injuries.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was notified.
