7-year-old dies of gunshot wound in Canyon; police investigating

CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - The Canyon Police Department responded at approximately 12:45 p.m. Monday to a report of a gunshot wound involving a 7-year-old child at Palo Duro Trailer Park, located at 4th Ave. and S. Highland St. in Canyon.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered.
This incident remains under active investigation.
The child’s name is not being released at this time.
