3 accused of firing 25 shots across downtown intersection, hitting 2 bystanders, indicted

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Three men accused of shooting across a downtown Amarillo intersection, hitting two bystanders, were indicted by a Potter County grand Jury.
Kuol Wek Deng Akol, Kual Makuc, and Alau Akot Maduak were indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and deadly conduct.
The shooting happened September 10, 2023 at the corner of Polk and SE 7th.
According to court records, video from a nearby business "clearly shows" the suspects firing weapons from the northeast corner across the intersection to the southwest.
Police said two bystanders, a man and a woman, were shot.
Friends drove one of them to the hospital. Police performed CPR on the other at the scene.
Both victims survived.
After the shooting, the suspects got into a Dodge Nitro and left the scene. The car was later found in Cactus, Texas.
Police said they found 25 shell casings from multiple guns at the scene.
