In July of 2023, members of the APD PACE and DEA Amarillo initiated an investigation into a DTO distributing fentanyl M-30 pills in Amarillo, TX. During the investigation it was found that Gary Eugene CARLISLE SR. was a Source of Supply (SOS) of fentanyl pills.
On August 8, 2023 agents received information that CARLISLE SR. was in Amarillo at the Amarillo Motel. TFO Hoffman responded to the Amarillo Motel and located a white Lexus that had been previously identified as belonging to CARLISLE SR. parked on the parking lot. A search warrant for the hotel room was
obtained.
On August 9, 2023, CARLISLE SR. exited the suspected room and was taken into custody. The search warrant was executed and, during the search of CARLISLE's vehicle, a Taurus handgun was located. During a search of the room, a canvas bag was located with marijuana, white powder believed to be fentanyl powder weighing approximately 97 grams, blue M-30 fentanyl pills weighing approximately 50 grams, and approximately $7,900.00 in cash. Also located in the room was a black bag with two additional pistols found under the mattress. The blue pills were later field tested and they had a positive result to the presence of fentanyl. This amount of fentanyl is consistent with distribution as opposed to personal consumption.
