"On 10/16/2024 Fields, Bryan Austin w/m 2/13/2013 was found at approximately 4:45 am deceased in his cell (CA-127).
Inmate Fields was processed into custody 03/23/2023 on felony stalking. He was found incompetent on 8/8/2024 and a writ of mental commitment was issued. He was awaiting transfer to the state hospital.
On 10/16/2024 at approximately 0445am Officer Arispe was beginning to feed breakfast when he approached inmate Fields’ cell and called his name several times with no response. Officer Arispe called for assistance and when additional staff arrived and made entry into the cell they found inmate Fields laying on his back with the blanket covering all of his body besides his head and he was unresponsive. Our medical arrived and attempted to resuscitate along with the assistance of BSA ambulance service and Randall County fire department.
BSA Ambulance stopped working to resuscitate at approximately 0507am.
DPS Texas Rangers were called to investigate and the body has been sent for autopsy.
