Pampa police detective arrested for DWI after rollover crash
PAMPA, Texas (KVII) — A Pampa police detective was arrested after a rollover crash.
Neal Allen Garner, 56, is charged with DWI.
Before 3 p.m. Sunday, Pampa police responded to a crash in the 2500 Block of N. Duncan Street.
They later requested the Department of Public Safety investigate it.
According to DPS, Garner rolled his silver, GMC Sierra. The pickup hit a fence and an RV.
Garner refused to take a field sobriety test.
DPS said there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from Garner and his truck.
Based on the trooper's experience and the "totality of circumstances," the trooper believed Garner was intoxicated.
Garner was arrested and taken to the Gray County Jail.
A blood draw was ordered.
According to the city, Garner has been with the Pampa Police Department since 2005.
