AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — An early morning shooting at Crunch Fitness is under investigation by Violent Crime detectives with the Amarillo Police Department.
Around 3:15 a.m., police were called to Crunch Fitness at 2020 S Georgia for shots fired inside the gym.
When officers arrived, they were told a man chased another man around the gym while shooting at him.
“I had just finished getting warmed up and starting to get into the flow. Then I started hearing gunshots," said Ryan Haisten. "I heard two maybe three before I hit the fire exit.”
Police found a gun and detained both men.
“At first, I thought maybe I was paranoid, like hearing weights being racked," said Haisten. "So I looked back at the door, and I could see several people running."
Nicholas Frasier, 42, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
ABC 7 News saw what appeared to be bullet holes in the front door.
Police said another business was also damaged from the bullets.
Police left Crunch Fitness shortly before 6:30 a.m.
The gym will reopen at 8 a.m.
