Ronnie Wayland Keith was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center on March 01, 2024. Inmate Keith was charged with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Inmate Keith was in poor health at the beginning of his incarceration. Inmate Keith was sent to the hospital numerous times.

On October 19, 2024, inmate Keith was sent to the hospital for weakness and concerning vital signs. Inmate Keith was discharged from the hospital and returned to the detention center on November 6,2024. The medical staff found inmate Keith to be too weak to care for himself without extensive supervision.

Inmate Keith was sent back to the hospital on November 6, 2024, within hours of returning to the detention center. Inmate Keith was readmitted to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. Inmate Keith remained in the hospital from November 6,2024, and his health continued to decline. On November 27, 2024, inmate Keith passed away under a doctor's care at 2133 hours. Texas Ranger Swick was contacted and is conducting the investigation and did come out to NWTH. Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor was contacted, an autopsy was approved and will be conducted Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
