70-year-old man accused of killing his brother

TULIA, Texas (KVII) — A 70-year-old man is accused of killing his brother.

Joe Alvino Medellin is charged with murder.

As ABC 7 first reported Tuesday, Tulia police responded around 10 p.m. to a disturbance in the 300 block of S. Dallas Ave.

When they got there, officers learned one person had been stabbed.

On Thursday, Police Chief Paul Brown said Alvino and his brother, Alfredo Medellin, 52, got into a fight.

Alfredo was stabbed.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alvino was booked into the Swisher County Jail.

His bond was set at $50,000.

The Texas Rangers are investigating.
