Man found dead after fight in northwest Amarillo, police say

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A man is dead after a fight in northwest Amarillo on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the 300 block of N. Carolina Street.

Officers arrived and learned that two people had been in a fight and one of them was killed.

The deceased was identified as 43-year-old Michael Mayfield.

The Amarillo Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
