AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A person reported missing in Amarillo was found dead near the Walmart in Canyon.
The resident found the body around 5:30 p.m. and called 911.
The body was located in the tree line west of Walmart.
According to the City of Canyon, the body was positively identified.
The name of the deceased is being held pending notification of next of kin.

CANYON, Texas (KVII) — The Amarillo man found dead near the Walmart in Canyon had been missing for nearly eight months.
Benjamin Adrian Martinez, 34, was reported missing in September.
A Canyon resident found his body around 5:30 p.m. Monday and called 911.
The body was located in the tree line west of Walmart.
An autopsy was performed in Lubbock.
The cause of death is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation.
Martinez was wanted for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
He was an Amarillo Crime Stoppers "Fugitive of the Week" in November.
