Randall County Sheriff's Office identifies woman murdered on Saturday as suspect's mother

RANDALL COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — The Randall County Sheriff's Office has identified a woman who was stabbed to death on Saturday.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Tiffany Kay Randle. She was confirmed to be the suspect's mother by the Randall County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the 19200 block of West County Road 34 for a stabbing at about 10:34 p.m. on Feb. 1.

The caller said a woman was stabbed and the suspect had fled the scene.

Texas Department of Public Safety assisted deputies and found the victim dead when they arrived.

Additional deputies, including SWAT, Crime Scene Investigators and CID Investigators were called to the scene and drones were utilized to assist with the search.

Roland was found and taken into custody after about an hour.

He was booked into the Randall County Jail for murder and given a bond of $1,000,000.

Roland was out of jail on a reduced bond after serving time in a state hospital on aggravated assault on a public servant charges from a previous encounter with law enforcement.

The autopsy on Randle was done in Lubbock on Tuesday but no results have been shared.
