Amarillo police investigating deadly hit-and-run on Amarillo Boulevard
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Police Department is currently investigating a hit-and-run early Saturday morning left one man dead.
According to APD, officers were sent to the area of East Amarillo Boulevard and North Johnson Street on a report of a body found lying in the road.
Upon arrival, officers found a 73-year-old man lying in the street. Officials say the man displayed signs indicating that he had been hit by a car.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials say a dark-colored SUV was traveling west on Amarillo Boulevard, hit the man and drove away without stopping or rendering aid.

An autopsy has been ordered for the victim, who police have not identified at this time.
Officials say that family of the victim has not been located or notified.
