Each time, the suspect caused quite a bit of damage inside the building.
In the early morning of June 27, Central Church of Christ in downtown Amarillo was broken into.
According to church officials and Amarillo Police, the suspect got in by breaking the window of one of the doors.
"They spent a couple hours going through our church doing some damage and vandalism,” said Central Church of Christ Senior Minister Mic Biesboer. "As the individual was going through, they were tearing down security cameras."
The suspect went around carving Satanic images into the walls, doors and chairs of the church. They also began breaking several electronic devices and light fixtures.
Biesboer said the community was quick to help clean up.
"So, our church and church community responded quickly. We are so grateful for our first responders, they came in the next day," Biesboer said. "They handled the situation very well."
He said now the focus is getting things back to a sense of normal.
"We got everything cleaned up, our staff stepped in and did everything they were supposed to do," said Biesboer. "And we had everything ready for Sunday other than a few issues because of the vandalism."
Biesboer said he's grateful to live in a community that was so quick to respond to a call for help.
This investigation is ongoing, and police are looking for a suspect.
As of now, there have been three church break-ins within the last two months, the first happening back in May and the third happening just days after Central Church of Christ was broken into.
